Reward Splits for Courier in HM/NM
This has been bugging me. Why are the rewards for escorting Courier Falken the same in NM as they are in Hard Mode? The difficulty is upped immensely and there is no other apparent reason to do it in HM instead of Normal Mode because of it. Even the Bounty Board offers increased reward if you complete it in Hard mode. I believe this should change. It makes doing this in Hard Mode pointless to be perfectly honest.

Only do it in hard mode if you want the drops. Anet apparently didn't want it done in hard mode.

They are keeping it the same in NM because they want EVERYONE to have the ability to get a lot of medals of honor. This extra content is aimed at the casual player too, not just the HM junkies. They want to keep everything even

TBH I doubt they thought of something as simple as "people will rezone constantly to spawn him and farm quickly." That kind of constant instance creation/destruction is both pointless and not the kind of stress they want to encourage on the servers. His rewards are probably scaled for something that just happens randomly, which of course is not really the case.

They thought of this, trust me. Almost everything in a game like this is "farmable" one way or another. They know something like this is bound to happen no matter what they do. An MMO community is so dynamic that they will come up with ways to farm the hardest of things.

I would like to see him removed altogether. Or at least scaled to be less or even equally as worthwile than doing the daily bounties. I mean why even add the bounties to the game when they are much less rewarding than this Falken mini-game. I realise it's supposed to be added content, but I see no reason why the rewards couldn't be scaled up a bit.
Also you're gonna tell me the quests are there as an alternative to the grind of doing Falken. But killing a random WiK boss on my 10 characters is just as much of a grind as doing Falken.

LOL what game have you been playing? With a statement like that; it can't be Guild Wars. If ANet didn't intend for us to farm him, they would have put a character/account limit for him being spawned; such as the limit for Black Moa chicks. Perhaps once a day per character, just to make it "semi-farmable" but no, ANet is fully aware.
After operating GW quite successfully for five years; I'm reasonably sure ANet is aware of what their playerbase's habits are. You think you're getting away with something nefarious, farming Courier Falken 16 hours a day? Trust me, with crap like UWSC, ANet aimed this at the casual player.

Considering that, in order to reach LA Keep alone; you have to:
Beat Prophecies/EOTN,
Acquire MOX,
Watch the stupid Zinn trial,
Watch the Shining Blade Camp dialogues 4-5 times;
I'd rather grind Courier Falken than deal with that nonsense 9 times over. I believe this was intentional.
Now, I can't speak for everyone else; but I like to do the WiK boss bounties every so often to kill the monotony of Courier Falken.

Ya i know what you mean. But whenever I do the bounties, I feel like I'm doing them out of some loyalty to new content. And I think to myself as I'm doing them, "wow other people are getting much further ahead in this war in kryta, for far less effort, I must be a fool to try to explore new content"

Aaaand Anet just proved half the thread wrong.
The team is like 5 people, they won't catch everything ahead of time.

Well so much for Anet making things even -_-
I swear they make this game intentionally unbalanced.

and a better reward for more work is a problem? I don't know what the rewards were changed to but ya know it's only far to have a higher reward for more and LONGER work...who knows it might work out to be less award per minute in hm then in nm...
Sooo....if anything this is adding balance...
please stop your damn QQing...
edit: cutting the nm reward in half seems fair to me...seeing as though it will make the bounties worth doing... and also seems about balanced in terms of Time/reward

Oops...looks like I spoke too soon. Apparently they halved the reward in NM and just kept the same number in HM.
